Whitby Walks and Walking Guide
North York Moors, North Yorkshire
Whitby is situated on the North Sea coast in the North York Moors National Park. It is an ideal centre for those who wish to explore the moors and coast of this wonderful National Park. The town has excellent local amenities including cafés, bars and restaurants. Accommodation in the area is varied including campsites and caravan parks. Public transport does provide links to some of the walks in this beautiful area and there is a rail service from Teesside. Highlights include the Cleveland Way along the coast and the surrounding moors.
All walks are free to download and print all have GPS files. The routes are predominantly moorland walks however the coastal walks can be shortened and make excellent family circular walks.

The moors offer no great height but cover seven regions; the Tabular Hills, Hambleton Hills, Cleveland Hills, Northern Moors, High Moors, Eastern Moors and Cleveland Coast. There is also a four-day route following the classic Lyke Wake Walk.
