Can anyone help with providing the location featured in this painting. Could be anywhere in the UK.

David Wilson has an oil painting featuring a mystery location and asks the question 'where does the painting portray?' There has been this large oil painting by Edmund J Niemann (the 19th century landscape artist) in the family for a long time, but we do not know where it was painted. It could me Scotland, North England or may be Wales.

David says 'I feel there is a very good chance that some of your site visitors will have walked there and may have even taken pictures of the area'. It would be of great interest to our family to know where it is. The tree may have gone by now but the distinctive rocks and winding river will hopefully be there for thousands of years.

Please us the contact form if you know the location. Many thanks on David's behalf for any help or ideas.
